The DRG Wins Wisconsin 2021 Marketplace Governor’s Award for Being an Outstanding Woman-Owned Business

December 14, 2021

The DRG is pleased and humbled to be named as a winner of the 2021 Wisconsin MARKETPLACE Governor’s Award for Outstanding Large Businesses.

The award is given out annually to businesses that show overall business excellence in sales growth, product innovation, employment, and management. The awards put a spotlight on outstanding diverse businesses in Wisconsin. The DRG is proud to be WBENC-certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.

“To receive such an honor in this moment, is truly an extraordinary accomplishment for the team at The DRG,” said Lanie Johnson, President and CEO of the company. “Coming off 2020, this year has been one of headwinds and challenges for so many businesses, but our relentless tenacity once again put us in a position of strength and success. And for that we are grateful. We also wish to congratulate the other finalists and winners honored this year through the Wisconsin MARKETPLACE Awards. It is truly special to be able to represent our state in this way.”

The award evaluated The DRG’s growth trajectory in sales, hiring, retention, and recruitment. This year, in spite of the labor shortage, The DRG grew its workforce by 11-percent. The DRG’s approach to strategy and new market opportunities was a factor considered by the awards committee. Community engagement was also taken into account. The DRG found ways to offer in-person and remote community service opportunities to employees, in addition to providing donations to more than a dozen nonprofits.  This award caps off a gratifying year of recognition for The DRG. This fall the company was named as a “Best Place to Work” in southeast Wisconsin for the second year in a row. And this summer The DRG’s Chief Information Officer was named as a “CIO of the Year” by the Milwaukee Business Journal.
